The Trade and Working Capital (T&WC) for Natural Resources function is an experienced team within a rapidly growing part of Santander GTB’s product range.

As an Executive Director, you will build a vision for how Santander’s Trade Finance products can support our clients in achieving their strategic goals. You will represent and promote the team externally, champion Trade and Working Capital as a solution for clients internally, and foster collaboration with other product teams and the Corporate & Commercial Bank. You will maintain the team’s track record of innovation, adaptation and success during internal and external change.

The difference you’ll make

  • Managing and developing the Trade and Working Capital for Natural Resources team
  • Building expertise in the Oil & Gas, Commodity Traders & Metals/Mining sectors and analysing sector trends relative to Santander Trade Finance products
  • Generating new business opportunities and leading the team to meet its annual revenue target
  • Planning and implementing marketing activities and driving lead generation
  • Managing and understanding the Bank’s key financial metrics to ensure transaction viability
  • Monitoring business performance and pipeline evolution, reporting to senior management as required
  • Overseeing and approving client marketing materials, transaction summaries, proposals, term sheets, credit applications and all execution procedures
  • Ensuring monitoring and continuous evolution of current deals and related income/exposure
  • Assisting in the reporting of commercial activity to stakeholders and assessing future business performance

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive experience in Trade and Working Capital, including origination and structuring of transactions
  • Well-established reputation with prominent individuals and organisations in Global Transaction Banking and Trade and Working Capital
  • Demonstrable experience in executing transactions and reviewing documentation
  • Proven relationships with major UK Natural Resources companies
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with new clients and counterparties
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of adapting messages to audiences and conveying information simply
  • Ability to develop logical, well‑reasoned arguments to influence and motivate others
  • Ability to work with multiple parties across geographies and disciplines
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under pressure and tight deadlines amidst significant change
  • Advanced competence in Microsoft software and general computer literacy
  • Creative thinking

Location and Working Environment

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London, within walking distance of Warren Street and Euston. We support flexible working arrangements and aim for a healthy work-life balance.
