As an LPS 1048 Scheme Auditor, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the integrity and success of the LPCB sprinkler certification scheme across the UK and Ireland. You’ll work closely with contractors, reviewing designs, visiting sites and carrying out technical audits to ensure compliance with LPC rules and industry standards.

This is a varied role combining technical assessment, client engagement, and project oversight. You’ll manage your own workload, balance site and desk‑based activities and contribute to the ongoing development of the scheme and its services.

Your role at BRE

  • Plan and carry out technical surveillance audits across certified sprinkler contractors
  • Review system designs and verify compliance through detailed assessments
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure installations meet required standards
  • Record audit findings accurately and produce high‑quality reports
  • Review and assess responses to any non-conformances within agreed timeframes
  • Support certification decisions by recommending approvals, additional audits, or suspensions where needed
  • Represent the business professionally when engaging with clients and stakeholders
  • Contribute to team activities, including audit support, service improvements, and new customer development

What we are looking for

  • Strong experience within the commercial sprinkler industry (design, installation, service, or management)
  • In‑depth knowledge of LPC Sprinkler Rules and relevant sprinkler standards
  • Good technical understanding of sprinkler systems and associated equipment
  • Awareness of residential and domestic sprinkler applications
  • LPCB or BAFSA sprinkler qualifications (or willingness to work towards them)
  • Excellent attention to detail and report‑writing ability
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Well‑organised, methodical, and able to manage your own workload effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional relationships
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Willingness to travel as required

Work Location Options

Mostly Remote – This role is primarily home‑based, with occasional travel to our head office in Watford for planned meetings (Once per quarter).
