We’re a fast growing, VC backed B2B marketplace connecting ecommerce and DTC brands with third party logistics (3PL) providers. With US and UK revenue and a Series A on the horizon, we’re bringing finance fully in house and looking for our first Financial Controller to own it.
This is a broad, senior role with real ownership. You’ll build the function, not just maintain it, and you’ll be a key part of getting us investment ready.
What you’ll own
- Monthly management accounts and a tight close
- Board reporting with narrative and commentary, not just tables
- Financial insights and modeling to support our Series A: variance analysis, margin and cash flow, scenario planning, and the commercial story behind the numbers
- Credit control end to end: overdue invoice collection, Stripe chargebacks, and managing escalations through to CCJ where needed (instructing external recovery and legal)
- VAT returns and Companies House filings
- Payroll, run through Zelt
- Expense management
- Bank accounts and cash management
- Setting up clean, consistent revenue recognition as we scale
We retain an external firm for year end statutory accounts and corporation tax, so you can focus on running finance and building toward the raise.
You’ll likely have
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar in a scale up or SME
- Fundraising experience and exposure to investor due diligence
- Strong commercial instincts, comfortable interpreting numbers and modeling the story, not just producing the figures
- Hands on credit control and collections experience
- Confidence working independently and building process from the ground up
Nice to have
- Exposure to marketplace, SaaS or logistics business models
- Familiarity with our stack: Xero, Stripe and Zelt
You’ll be the finance function at a pivotal moment, shaping how we report, control cash, model the business and present ourselves to investors. High autonomy, direct access to the CEO, and the chance to build something rather than inherit it.
