Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital NHS Trust provides Level 2 Neonatal Services with 22 cots, 3 ITU, 3 HDU, and 16 special care cots.
We are hiring a Trainee Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP) to join our neonatal service and advanced practitioners team.
Main Duties of the Job
Develop a clear pathway for advanced neonatal nurse practitioners, including training, career structure, and progression.
Provide 7‑day working pattern with shift and after‑hours coverage, operating a medical model to support continuous care for premature and sick newborns.
Complete full‑time MSC Advanced Clinical Practice (Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner) at the University of Southampton, commencing September 2024, and obtain an Independent Non‑Medical Prescribing qualification.
Undergo a wide range of core clinical competencies and present case studies within your area of practice.
Fixed‑term 18‑month contract, progressing to a permanent Band 8a post upon fulfillment of the educational and prescribing requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Full degree in nursing or related discipline.
Strong communication skills, excellent critical decision‑making, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Experience or interest in neonatal care, and willingness to undertake additional training at the University of Southampton.
Other Information
Candidates who do not hold a full degree will be required to complete a university‑mandated portfolio of work before commencing the course.
