Geotechnical Engineer

Igne are seeking to appoint a Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Ground Investigation Division (GI England) based from Warrington.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and log subsurface data, including borehole logs, sampling records, and geophysical survey outputs.
• Perform geological interpretation of site data to develop factual logs and initial ground models.
• Contribute to technical reporting, preparing factual geotechnical logs, laboratory data summaries, and interpretative narratives.
• Maintain project schedules and resource allocations in collaboration with the Geotechnical Co‑ordinator.
• Support tender preparation by providing scope input, cost estimates, and technical write‑ups.
• Monitor specialist equipment usage and report any maintenance or calibration requirements.
• Oversee and manage ground investigation projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in contract management of ground investigation projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and reporting abilities.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Full driving licence (travel is required).
