About the Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will undertake maintenance, repairs, and installations for mechanical and electrical systems across the Port of Felixstowe’s infrastructure. You will work collaboratively across the engineering department to support routine operations and new projects, contributing to the HPUK business strategy and NetZero targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure electrical and mechanical installations on port plant and equipment are repaired and maintained in a safe, cost-effective manner with minimal operational disruption.
  • Prioritise safety and meet all business requirements while ensuring maintenance and installations are managed safely for yourself and others.
  • Provide regular progress reports on all maintenance, installation and commissioning work, updating the status of ongoing repair work to supervisors and management staff.

What You Need

  • ONC (Ordinary National Certificate) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with proven practical capability in mechanical electrical engineering covering site equipment technology.
  • Ability to diagnose complex faults with limited data or history.
  • Capable of working within a fast‑paced environment both individually and as part of a team.
  • Full DVLA UK driver’s licence.

Shifts & Pay

  • Basic salary: £39,709 to £66,190 per annum depending on skill and experience.
  • Shift pay: From £14,414 per annum.
  • Hours: 42 hours per week.
