Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Low Voltage in Bridgwater

Responsibilities

• Execute commissioning activities across LV electrical distribution and power systems
• Commission transformers, switchboards, UPS systems, and large battery installations
• Apply nuclear, electrical, and industrial safety requirements during commissioning activities
• Manage commissioning documentation, configuration control, and technical records accurately
• Analyze test results and resolve technical deviations with stakeholders
• Support commissioning hold points and nuclear safety compliance requirements
• Coordinate activities with mechanical, process, and I&C commissioning teams
• Conduct system walkdowns, punch‑list closure, and readiness verification activities
• Capture operational experience feedback to support continuous programme improvement
• Support development of junior engineers and commissioning technicians onsite

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Strong commissioning experience within highly regulated industrial environments
• Knowledge of LV electrical systems, testing, installation, and maintenance
• Understanding of electrical isolation, switching procedures, and safety rules
• Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations and BS 7671 standards
• Experience working within large‑scale infrastructure or construction projects
• Ability to work confidently within dynamic and high‑security environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong problem‑solving abilities with proactive and collaborative working approach
• IOSH accreditation and Behavioural Safety Programme certification advantageous
