We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Security Officer to safeguard a prominent facility in Newbury, RG14.
Role Details
Role: Security OfficerPay Rate: £13.45 per hourShift Pattern: 3 days, 3 nights, 3 off (56 hours per week)Location: Newbury
Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact and information centre to staff and visitors.
- Provide clear, concise information to visitors and callers in person, over the phone, or via email.
- Carry out ID checks.
- Respond to emergencies promptly and appropriately.
- Deal with conflict in an appropriate manner when required.
- Write up incidents to the standard expected by management.
- Report any issues to the supervisor or duty manager.
- Ensure the reception area, foyer, staff area, and boardroom are kept clean by supervising cleaning staff members.
- Maintain a professional and polished demeanour at all times.
- Be vigilant to health and safety risks.
- Work on your own initiative and be resourceful when issues arise.
- Operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Maintain an elevated level of customer service and communication.
Requirements
- Valid SIA licence.
- UK manual driving licence.
- Minimum 1 year of proven work experience as a Security Officer.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports.
- Experience within corporate security (minimum 1 year).
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Five‑year checkable work history.
- IT literacy – ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent organisational skills.
