Job Description
We’re working with a leading law firm to hire a Compliance Manager for their Southampton office.
In this role, you’ll support the Head of Compliance in ensuring the organisation meets its AML/CFT and sanctions obligations across client take‑on, periodic reviews and wider regulatory activity. You’ll act as a subject‑matter expert for onboarding and compliance queries, build strong working relationships across multiple jurisdictions, and play a key role in identifying risk areas, shaping improvements and supporting ongoing monitoring, audit and project work.
The firm is looking for someone with at least five years’ experience in a similar compliance role, ideally gained in financial services or legal practice, with strong knowledge of AML/CFT legislation, sanctions regimes and risk‑based CDD processes. A relevant professional qualification such as CAMS or ICA is essential.
The hours for this role will be 11 am to 7 pm.
Responsibilities
- Providing expert onboarding support to partners and earners and advising on AML/CFT queries
- Supporting the Bermuda onboarding team and wider compliance colleagues across jurisdictions
- Keeping up to date with regulatory developments and helping implement policy and process changes
- Identifying compliance risks, recommending solutions and guiding approved action plans
- Managing operational issues, tracking resolutions and supporting compliance monitoring outcomes
- Acting as an escalation point for high‑risk or complex matters requiring senior input
- Contributing to onboarding‑related projects, systems and process improvements
- Supporting regulatory submissions and external audit activity
