Cancer Performance & Improvement Manager
The post holder will lead on cancer performance for the Trust overseeing the management of the cancer patient tracking list (PTL), managing the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Co‑ordinators and reporting on cancer performance to cancer management, Divisional reporting, Executives and external reporting when required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead on the provision of specialist knowledge in cancer services, including areas such as national cancer waiting time performance, MDT meeting management, MDT coordinator function and cancer pathway knowledge across tumour sites.
To work closely with General Managers, Clinical leads, MDT co‑ordinators and Service Managers and will report to the General Manager for Cancer Performance & Improvement / Oncology. The post holder will lead on the delivery of the national standard for cancer performance across the Trust, providing timely reports for validation and approval to divisions and assurance reports for the Executive Committee, Cancer Board and Trust Board regarding Trust compliance.
Person Specification
Education, Qualifications & Training
- Education and training to degree level or equivalent level qualification in relevant subject or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
- Recognised leadership and/or management qualification or equivalent
- NHS Finance training Sound NHS knowledge, including AMSPAR medical terminology
Experience
- Experience in cancer performance
- Contributing to improvements in service standards and patient experience
- Monitoring compliance with local and national performance and quality targets
- Suggesting innovative and lasting solutions to problems and difficulties
- Experience of managing administrative and support staff
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
- Up-to-date knowledge of defined service areas, including current issues in service delivery, patient pathways and cancer performance
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex and varied information in order to identify issues and solutions
- Ability to write management reports and on key performance and service issues

£49,387 to £56,515 a year per annum (pro rata for part time)
