Supplier Quality Engineer
The Role
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will act as a key interface between suppliers, customers, and internal teams. You’ll lead quality initiatives, drive supplier development, and ensure compliance with industry and customer standards. You’ll be instrumental in delivering zero defects by:
- Supporting quality across the full supply chain
- Driving supplier performance improvement initiatives
- Leading root cause investigations and corrective actions
- Ensuring compliance with aerospace and customer quality requirements
Supplier Quality Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert quality support to suppliers and internal value streams
- Lead supplier audits, development activities, and performance improvement programmes
- Implement and drive Zero Defect initiatives to reduce defects (DPPM)
- Analyse non-conformance data and deliver actionable improvements
- Lead problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D
- Review First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102)
- Ensure compliance to AS9100 and regulatory standards
- Support supplier transfer and development programmes
- Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations
Supplier Quality Engineer
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring a strong background in quality engineering within a regulated environment, ideally aerospace, along with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
Essential experience & skills:
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 / AS9102 / ISO9001
- Experience in supplier quality, audits, and development
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans
- Proven problem-solving capability (8D / RCA tools)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Travel
- Approx. 25% travel including supplier visits (approx. 1 per week)
- Occasional international travel within EMEA (approx. 1 per month)
