COMPLIANCE MANAGER . LAW FIRM . GREENWICH . £60,000 . PERMANENT

A well-regarded law firm in Greenwich is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to take ownership of regulatory compliance across the firm. This is primarily a compliance-focused role, with some additional office management responsibilities, making it well suited to someone who wants compliance to remain their core focus while having broader input into how the firm runs day to day.

COMPLIANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT (CORE FOCUS)

  • Act as the firm’s central point of contact for regulatory compliance (SRA, AML, GDPR where relevant)
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and controls
  • Monitor ongoing compliance and identify risks, gaps or areas for improvement
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits (e.g. Lexcel / ISO if applicable)
  • Maintain compliance registers (complaints, breaches, conflicts, etc.)
  • Ensure staff training is up to date, including AML, GDPR and code of conduct
  • Provide practical, solutions-focused advice to partners and staff on compliance matters
  • Report regularly to the Managing Partner on compliance performance and risks

OFFICE AND OPERATIONS SUPPORT (SECONDARY DUTIES)

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the office across departments
  • Manage office resources, suppliers and service contracts, including cleaning, facilities and IT coordination
  • Ensure systems and processes are efficient and support business operations
  • Work closely with HR and IT to support onboarding, office setup and staff needs
  • Maintain business continuity processes and operational resilience planning
  • Support implementation of new systems and process improvements

WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience in a compliance role within a law firm or other regulated environment
  • Strong working knowledge of SRA requirements, AML and GDPR
  • Confident, practical approach with the ability to advise partners and staff at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
