The role involves operating refuse and recycling collection vehicles while working closely with a dedicated crew to deliver an efficient and reliable service. Waste and recycling collection is a key local authority service across the district.
The Role
- Driving HGV Class 2 refuse and recycling collection vehicles
- Completing designated collection routes safely and efficiently
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Working alongside collection crews to ensure rounds are completed on schedule
- Ensuring compliance with all road transport, health & safety, and environmental regulations
- Delivering a professional and courteous service to residents and businesses
- Maintaining accurate paperwork and reporting any issues encountered during collections
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Valid CPC Qualification Card
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred
- Good understanding of Driver Hours and road transport regulations
- Reliable and safety-conscious approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
