We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our 9-bed residential service at Phoenix House in Manor Park, London, supporting adults with autism and learning disabilities.
This is a key leadership role within a small, person-centred residential service where you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care in line with CQC standards.
You will help lead a dedicated staff team, promote positive outcomes for individuals, and ensure the service continues to operate to a high standard of compliance and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of a 9-bed residential service
Lead, supervise, and motivate the care team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support
Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and support documentation are accurate, up to date, and regularly reviewed
Promote independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing for all individuals supported
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and all incidents are appropriately recorded and escalated
Support CQC compliance, audits, inspections, and ongoing quality monitoring
Assist with rota planning, supervisions, appraisals, and staff performance management
Provide hands-on support when required, including personal care
Participate in an on-call rota to support the service out of hours
What Were Looking For
Previous experience in a senior support worker or deputy manager role within a residential or supported living service
Strong understanding of CQC regulations and quality standards
Experience supporting adults with autism and/or learning disabilities
Proven leadership skills with the ability to support and develop staff teams
Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work flexibly between 7:30am and 10:00pm
Commitment to delivering person-centred, high-quality care
Desirable
NVQ Level 3 or Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or working towards Level 5)
Experience working in a small residential service environment
Experience in audits, compliance, and quality assurance processes

Full flexibility is essential due to service needs
On-call responsibility is part of the role
