Deputy Manager 9-Bed Autism Residential Service

Location: Phoenix House, Manor Park, LondonSalary: £31,936 per annumHours: Full-time (flexible shifts between 7:30am 10:00pm)On-call: Required as part of rotaContract: Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our 9-bed residential service at Phoenix House in Manor Park, London, supporting adults with autism and learning disabilities.

This is a key leadership role within a small, person-centred residential service where you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care in line with CQC standards.

You will help lead a dedicated staff team, promote positive outcomes for individuals, and ensure the service continues to operate to a high standard of compliance and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of a 9-bed residential service

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the care team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support

  • Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and support documentation are accurate, up to date, and regularly reviewed

  • Promote independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing for all individuals supported

  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and all incidents are appropriately recorded and escalated

  • Support CQC compliance, audits, inspections, and ongoing quality monitoring

  • Assist with rota planning, supervisions, appraisals, and staff performance management

  • Provide hands-on support when required, including personal care

  • Participate in an on-call rota to support the service out of hours

What Were Looking For

  • Previous experience in a senior support worker or deputy manager role within a residential or supported living service

  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations and quality standards

  • Experience supporting adults with autism and/or learning disabilities

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to support and develop staff teams

  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work flexibly between 7:30am and 10:00pm

  • Commitment to delivering person-centred, high-quality care

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 or Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or working towards Level 5)

  • Experience working in a small residential service environment

  • Experience in audits, compliance, and quality assurance processes

  • Enhanced DBS check required

  • Full flexibility is essential due to service needs

  • On-call responsibility is part of the role
