Unicare Complex Care Specialist is a CQC-registered provider of supported living, complex care and community support. Across Sussex, we help people living with mental health needs to stay well, grow in confidence and lead full, independent lives in their own homes and communities.

We are looking for warm, resilient Mental Health Support Workers to join our Sussex community team. Youll build genuine, trusting relationships with the people we support and provide the person-centred care that helps them on their recovery journey every single day.

Where youll be working

Community-based across Sussex, supporting people in and around (insert key areas e.g. Brighton & Hove, Worthing, Crawley, Eastbourne).

Your shifts

Our community service runs across a range of shifts, and patterns vary from week to week. Well always work with you around your availability.

Typical hours

Morning shift

Daytime cover from early morning (e.g. 7:00am 2:00pm)

Afternoon shift

Daytime into early evening (e.g. 2:00pm 8:00pm)

Evening shift

Evening support (e.g. 8:00pm 10:00pm; waking nights where required)

Weekend shifts

Saturdays & Sundays daytime and evening cover

Full-time, part-time and bank hours available.

What youll be doing

Building trusting, professional relationships with the people we support

Delivering person-centred support that promotes recovery, wellbeing and independence

Supporting with daily living, medication prompts, appointments and accessing the community

Encouraging social inclusion, meaningful activity and confidence

Recognising changes in mental health and responding in line with support and risk-management plans

Working alongside families, clinicians and the wider team, and keeping accurate, professional records

What were looking for

A compassionate, patient and resilient approach, with strong communication skills

An interest in or experience of supporting people with mental health needs (experience welcome but not essential; full training is provided)

Flexibility to work across varied shift patterns, including evenings and weekends

The right to work in the UK

Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (we arrange and support this)

Ability to travel reliably across Sussex (a driving licence and access to a vehicle is an advantage)

A competitive hourly rate from £13-£14.50 based onexperience

structured induction including the Care Certificate and specialist mental health training
