Science Tutor – Wokingham (Urgently Needed)
Quantum Scholars is seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 tuition for a Year 10 student in Wokingham.
This role is available immediately and will involve delivering tuition sessions every Monday from 12:30pm to 14:30pm until the end of the current academic year, with the potential for the placement to continue into the next school year.
About the Role
You will be supporting a young learner who is currently accessing alternative provision. The student has experienced behavioural challenges and was at risk of permanent exclusion; however, positive progress has been made, and a plan has been implemented to provide personalised 1:1 tuition outside of the school environment for their core subjects.
As the Science Tutor, you will play a key role in helping the student build confidence, re‑engage with learning, and make academic progress through engaging and adaptable teaching approaches.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Science at secondary school level
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people
- Experience supporting learners with additional needs or behavioural challenges is desirable
- A patient, flexible, and encouraging approach to learning
- Enhanced DBS certificate (required)
