About the role:

justteachers is recruiting a passionate SEN Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN school in Birmingham. This role offers the chance to support students with diverse and complex needs in a nurturing and structured environment. The position is set to begin in September 2026, with flexibility for an earlier start for candidates who are available sooner and demonstrate the right experience and commitment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with a range of SEN, including physical disabilities, communication needs, and behavioural challenges
• Work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging and accessible lessons
• Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning needs
• Assist with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times
• Implement behaviour support plans and contribute to a positive learning environment
• Support the development of life skills and independence

Pre-requisites:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in an SEN setting is highly desirable
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection
• Strong teamwork skills and a flexible attitude
• Resilient, calm, and nurturing approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
