Jark Cambridge are representing a well‑established and growing M&E services contractor based in Basildon, delivering high‑quality commercial and industrial projects across the South East. With a strong pipeline of work and projects valued up to £5 million, they’re looking to expand their team with an experienced and motivated Mechanical Estimator.
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre‑construction team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a wide range of mechanical projects. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure successful project bids and continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical projects up to £6 million.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Producing take‑offs and bills of quantities.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and senior management.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Managing multiple tenders simultaneously within deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within commercial and/or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and building services.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive and team‑oriented approach.
