Job Overview

We are looking for Material Site Technicians to join our team in Heathrow for concrete, asphalt and soil testing and sampling.

Soil Testing? What an EARTH is that? We have a no experience necessary position as we will give full training. All we need from you is a strong work ethic, a love for being outdoors, and a team player spirit.

You will work outside on a wide variety of sites and major projects carrying out on-site testing and sampling activities. Some early starts with traveling are expected, and you may be asked to stay away or work night shifts from time to time – allowances are paid for this.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out allocated work in accordance with documented in‑house procedures in an expeditious manner.
  • Produce test results in accordance with the documented procedures, standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent record keeping.
  • Ensure testing/sampling activities comply with UKAS and company requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment at all times.
  • Work safely in accordance with the company health & safety policy.
  • Integrate into the team and maintain strong harmony and morale throughout the laboratory.
  • Carry out any other relevant tasks as directed by senior staff.
  • Output accurate testing data to the Operation Supervisors and Operational Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to GCSE level or above with a good level of numeracy and literacy.
  • No specific experience required; experience in construction laboratory testing is advantageous but not required.
  • IT literacy.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Working Hours and Conditions

42.5 hours per week (longer days with travel). Working Monday–Friday, night work when necessary with options for weekend work when available.
