Staffordshire Children’s Hospital @Royal Stoke University Hospital (SCH@RSUH) is launching a brand‑new Tongue‑Tie (Infant Frenulotomy) Service and is looking for a caring, motivated and skilled individual to join the tongue‑tie team as an infant feeding support worker.

Responsibilities

  • Provide feeding support and guidance to parents and families.
  • Support the delivery of tongue‑tie clinics and infant feeding interventions.
  • Offer evidence‑based infant feeding care and education.
  • Contribute to improving infant feeding outcomes and family experience during maternity and child health services.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support infant development.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a health‑ or childcare‑related field.
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Willingness to undertake tongue‑tie‑related education and competency training.

Knowledge

  • Experience within maternity, neonatal, paediatric, or community health settings.
  • Competent in documentation, IT systems, and data entry.

Skills

  • Experience supporting families with infant feeding difficulties.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and trust‑building skills.
  • Compassionate, calm, and family‑centred approach.
  • Positive team player, committed to high‑quality care and continuous improvement.
