Required to start 1 September 2026

The working hours for this post are 7:45am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday

Our outstanding special school caters for pupils aged 4-19 who have learning difficulties and a wide range of complex needs.

We provide a broad, balanced, personalised and fully engaging curriculum which will enable each child to develop emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually to achieve their full potential through a wide range of learning opportunities. Our pupils are enthusiastic and love coming to school. They expect a lot from the adults that work with them!

About this role

This is a strategic operational role. The successful candidate will act as the gatekeeper of the school day, ensuring that despite staff absences, the students’ education continues without disruption. This position is a hybrid of logistics, administration, and human resources. It requires someone with the skills to balance the “morning rush” (incoming staff illness reports), with the task of allocating cover for the day. Planning for timetable changes along with any other adhoc administrative tasks to support SLT and the main school office team, will also be your responsibility.

There may occasionally be a requirement to work a few hours in the school holidays or after the end of the school day. Advance notice will be given if this is the case and the time can be taken off in lieu, with prior arrangement.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to extend and develop their skills in new and innovative ways.

We look forward to hearing from you if you are:

  • An excellent practitioner, able to set and achieve high standards and expectations
  • A highly motivated professional and a team player with drive and vision
  • An excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of resilience, working well under pressure
  • Able to adapt quickly and calmly to changing circumstances throughout the day
  • A proactive and systematic problem solver who can see detail alongside the big picture
  • Organised and highly precise when collating information to be shared with others

In return we can offer:

  • A school which values and invests in all our staff by providing a range of bespoke CPD opportunities to enable you to meet all our pupil needs
  • A well-resourced and enjoyable working environment which cares for and values every staff member
  • A supportive and collaborative leadership team who welcome new ideas and innovation
  • A school committed to raising standards which has children and young people at the heart of our maxim “All Different, All Equal, All Important”

We encourage you to read our AI Guidance before submitting your application to ensure your supporting statements reflect your own authentic experience.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

Visits to the school are welcome.

Please contact the school on 01924 456811 to arrange an appointment.

Closing date is Monday 29 June at 10am
