Job Description

Provide high‑quality, meaningful care for vulnerable young people in a permanent residential setting. You will plan, deliver and evaluate individual support plans, manage challenging behaviours with a trauma‑informed approach, support mental health and substance misuse concerns, and build positive relationships with children, families and professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised, evidence‑based support to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe, stable and nurturing environment for young people.
  • Apply knowledge of child development, attachment and trauma to support wellbeing.
  • Manage challenging behaviours effectively and calmly.
  • Collaborate with multi‑agency teams and families to promote equality and inclusion.
  • Plan and facilitate activities that encourage independence and development.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with safeguarding and legislative frameworks.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or will achieve within two years.
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding legislation, policies and frameworks for looked‑after children.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people is preferred.
