The role holder must be discreet and capable of communicating with board members, senior executives and other key stakeholders across a wide range of sensitive topics.

You’ll get a unique and exciting opportunity to gain insight across Group Secretariat, establish relationships and play a key role in the delivery of first‑class governance service to the board, board committees and executive committees, ensuring that they meet corporate governance, legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the delivery of board and committee activity, including preparing draft agendas, organising and dispatching papers, and assisting with meeting arrangements and logistics
  • Assisting with the preparation of board and committee materials by preparing draft minutes, action logs and chair notes and providing guidance to paper authors on template and format in line with the agreed standards
  • Leading end‑to‑end the arranging and facilitation of board / committee meetings, including meeting support on meeting days (such as IT support, managing guests and presenters and catering)
  • Oversight of the administration and governance of the Board portal system, including user access management, and acting as a subject matter expert for its effective use

  • Providing general Secretariat support, including responding to queries, supporting Non‑Executive Director onboarding and training, and assisting with team projects and administrative activities

  • Experience of supporting Board or Committee operations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and able to engage confidently with senior colleagues
  • Highly organised and detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight, complex deadlines
  • Knowledge of corporate governance best practice, frameworks, and relevant legislation

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance‑related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 28 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies

We also offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long‑term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.
