Are you an experienced production operative looking for a role that genuinely respects your work‑life balance? We’re offering a permanent, full‑time position within our busy food manufacturing environment — with the rare benefit of a 4‑day working week and every single weekend off as standard.

Reporting to the Line Leader, you’ll play a vital hands‑on role in keeping our production operation running safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Whether you’re operating machinery, carrying out multi‑skilled tasks on the line, you’ll be a key contributor to hitting our daily and weekly KPIs.

Why Join Us?

We know great people have options. Here’s what makes this role stand out:

  • 4‑day working week — more time for the things that matter
  • 48 hours guaranteed every week — reliable, consistent earnings
  • c. £36,500 basic salary — competitive pay for skilled operatives
  • Every weekend off — plan your life without worrying about rotas
  • Permanent role with a stable, established manufacturer
  • Supportive team environment with clear lines of communication

The Role

You’ll work alongside your production team to ensure the line runs at its best. Key day‑to‑day responsibilities include:

  • Operating and maintaining production machinery to manufacture quality products
  • Supporting efficient changeovers and material coordination to maximise output
  • Safeguarding food safety and product quality at every stage
  • Following defined procedures and working to GMP, HACCP, ISO, allergen and food safety standards
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and hygienic work area — supporting “clean as you go” principles
  • Monitoring and minimising waste across floor waste, ingredients, energy, time and people
  • Communicating issues promptly to the Line Leader and contributing to improvement plans
  • Escalating serious concerns to the Line Leader when required
  • Assisting with internal and external compliance audits including QMS, Environmental and Health & Safety checks
  • Demonstrating effective teamwork and leading by example to achieve the team’s collective goals

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG production environment
  • A strong understanding of food safety principles (HACCP, GMP, allergen awareness)
  • A positive, proactive attitude and genuine commitment to team performance
  • Good communication skills — able to flag issues clearly and constructively
  • A consistent, reliable approach to quality, safety and hygiene standards
  • The ability to work at pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Standards & Compliance

This role requires full adherence to all relevant internal and external standards. These include GMP, ISO, HACCP, allergen controls, environmental checks, food safety audits, QMS and Health & Safety legislation. You will work alongside the management team to ensure the business consistently produces safe, legal and quality products within agreed budgetary targets.
