About The College

Calman Colaiste (College) is located on a large 20 acre site in Thorney, near Peterborough, and offers a functional learning hub with catering, horticulture, creative arts and animal husbandry provision. We provide a range of bespoke programmes for learners at our campus.

About You

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will be an integral part of the family at Calman College. Your day-to-day duties include:

  • Building strong and meaningful relationships with students and adapting to each student’s way of learning.
  • Supporting the Class Tutor to review each student’s progress.
  • Assisting in implementing programmes devised by a multi-disciplinary team such as Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Educational Psychologists.
  • Supporting student access to curriculum and vocational work to ensure positive outcomes aligned with personal targets.
  • Contributing to the development of students through a healthy lifestyle and a variety of appropriate stimulating activities.
  • Supporting students to develop communication skills using methods appropriate to their abilities.
  • Enabling work experience and volunteering opportunities onsite and in the local community.

Working Hours

This role works Monday to Friday during term time.
