Quality Apprentice

What you’ll do

You will support the plant quality function, acquiring fundamental engineering process knowledge and manufacturing quality competencies.

• Conduct dimensional inspections of injection moulded and stamped components and report findings in written inspection reports.
• Perform mechanical tests on components and assemblies, reporting results accurately.
• Provide input into part modification decisions considering product form and functional requirements.
• Calibrate production gauges and equipment and ensure calibration database is kept up-to-date.
• Update controlled documents and standard operating procedures.
• Support the site’s internal ISO 9001 quality audit program as a trainee quality system auditor.
• Support the administration of customer return processing.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities including problem solving and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

GCSE or Equivalent (Mathematics and English level 4 or above).

Skills

• IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Mathematics at level 4 or above at GCSE.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Interest in engineering and technology.
