Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Representative to join the UK Sales team at Sanderson Design Group on a part time basis, working 3 days a week. If successful, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our sales efforts across our portfolio of brands and contributing to the overall growth of your assigned region. You’ll work closely with senior team members to understand customer needs, develop existing relationships, and identify new opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.

Sanderson Design Group plc is a luxury interior design house, home to six iconic brands with over 165 years of history: Sanderson, Morris & Co., Harlequin, Zoffany, Clarke & Clarke, and Scion. Our portfolio spans fabric, wallpaper, and paint, with manufacturing capabilities through Anstey and Standfast & Barracks. Responsibilities

  • Support sales initiatives: Assist in developing and executing sales plans for allocated customers within your region.
  • Contribute to sales targets: Work towards achieving sales targets and maintaining appropriate margins to ensure profitable sales.
  • New business development: Support the procurement of new accounts in your region, collaborating with the Proactive Sales Team and Lead Sales Manager.
  • Customer relationship building: Learn to maximise potential with existing customers by understanding their needs and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Learn and grow: Be eager to learn and participate in the development and mentoring of existing customer accounts, ensuring they have the tools to manage and grow their business.
  • Contracts support: Work closely with customer services and UK Contracts customer service teams to drive Contracts sales in your region.
  • Customer service excellence: Manage relationships with allocated customers by striving to offer outstanding customer service.
  • Regional strategy support: Contribute to devising effective regional sales and marketing strategies to engage, develop, and manage customers.
  • Market adaptation: Help manage our route to market for new ranges, adapting quickly to market changes.
  • Brand representation: Ensure all brands are fully and appropriately represented in line with brand values, working closely with Brand Managers and the marketing department.
  • Utilise sales tools: Learn to use WG360 and CRM effectively to optimize sales opportunities and maintain comprehensive customer records.
  • Business vision: Support the sharing and promotion of the business vision and strategy with key buyers/customers, ensuring they understand the DNA of each brand.
  • Market intelligence: Help keep the business informed of competitor activity and general market information.
  • Sales analysis support: Assist with regular analysis of sales information to identify future business development opportunities.
  • Journey planning: Learn to formulate, review, and implement effective journey plans.
  • Reporting: Contribute to comprehensive monthly reports.
  • Customer support: Provide assistance with customer complaints as requested by Customer Services, working in conjunction with the customer service team.

Qualifications Required

  • Business-related Degree and/or equivalent preferred.
  • UK/EU Driver’s License.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing CPD and personal development.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Highly self-motivated individual with a desire to develop negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Some proven sales experience (e.g., as a Sales Representative or Account Executive).
  • Developing business acumen.
  • Desire to build strong relationship management skills.
  • Commercially and financially aware, with a willingness to learn more.
  • Ability to present, influence, and communicate effectively at various levels.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and a positive outlook.
  • Enjoys working in a team and closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Good analytical and numerical skills; able to work with spreadsheets.
  • Comprehensive computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and contribute to sales growth.
  • Strong organisational skills with a problem-solving attitude
