Want to help develop better drugs for mental illness?
Monument Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated graduate to join our small, remote-first team. The role would suit an individual with a strong academic background in neuroscience, psychology or a related discipline who is looking for a broad and varied position within a small and innovative drug development company.
Working directly with the company founders, you will contribute to a wide range of scientific, operational and business activities.
As a key member of a small team, you will rapidly gain experience of many aspects of drug development and company development, and make a meaningful contribution across multiple areas of the business.
About Monument Therapeutics
Monument Therapeutics is an early stage company developing new medicines for serious mental illnesses. Since our inception in 2021 we have developed two drugs which are now being tested in clinical trials.
The Role
The successful candidate will support the company across two broad areas:
Scientific Support
- Review literature and scientific research, help prepare scientific presentations, data visualisations, draft and review clinical documents.
- Support grant applications and intellectual property drafting and review.
- Generate science-based content for, and help manage, press releases, LinkedIn and the company website.
- Identify opportunities to communicate Monument’s scientific and business achievements.
Business Operations & Quality
- Help manage data rooms, document repositories and patent administration.
- Support maintenance of company quality systems and regulatory compliance processes including data protection.
- Help improve company processes through effective use of AI.
- Assist with general company administration including vendor management
About You
You are organised, proactive and comfortable working independently. You enjoy learning new skills, taking ownership of tasks and contributing wherever needed.
With a relevant scientific background, you are nonetheless keen to dig in and help solve operational challenges, improve processes and support company activities outside your immediate area of expertise.
We are looking for someone excited by our mission to improve the lives of people living with serious mental illness, and who has an interest in gaining broad experience across science, business operations and company growth.
Essential Requirements
- First-class degree or Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Psychology or a related discipline
- Excellent communication and organisational skills developed in a previous working environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Experienced with, or comfortable learning to use, digital and AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Greater Manchester or Cheshire area
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
Working Arrangements
- This is primarily a home-based position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working as part of a fully virtual team.
- Occasional travel will be required to meet colleagues, attend conferences and other business activities.
- We operate a flexible working policy with core working hours.
What We Offer
This role provides a rare opportunity to gain practical experience across multiple areas of a small and fast-moving drug development company, including scientific research, drug development, intellectual property, quality systems, corporate communications and business operations.
For candidates considering a long-term career in the biotechnology industry, the breadth of experience available in this position would take many years to acquire within a larger organisation.
Benefits include private healthcare, life insurance, generous pension contribution and holiday allowance.
How to Apply
Please submit your CV together with a brief covering letter explaining your interest in the role and what you would bring to Monument Therapeutics.
