Principal DevOps Engineer – SC Clearance

Permanent opportunity for a Principal DevOps Engineer with SC Clearance. Salary up to £105,000 DOE and a hybrid working arrangement with Newcastle based offices.

We’re hiring for DevOps Engineers at principal level to join a top consultancy delivering cutting‑edge solutions for industry‑leading Public Sector and Defence clients.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple high‑impact, innovative and mission‑critical projects, shaping solutions that make a real difference.

Due to the sensitive nature of the work, an SC Clearance eligibility is required.

Key Requirements

• Active SC Clearance or SC Clearance eligibility
• Newcastle based or ability to travel to Newcastle
• Experience as Senior or Principal DevOps/Platform engineer

Essential Skills

• Strong Linux expertise (RHEL/CentOS) with experience supporting production systems
• Git for version control and collaborative development (GitHub / GitLab)
• AWS cloud infrastructure, ideally with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Kubernetes and container technologies (Docker) for modern platform environments
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo)
• Strong understanding of modern platform architecture, microservices and cloud‑native systems
• Good communication skills and ability to provide technical leadership
