Software and Systems Defect Coordination Engineer

Salary: £35,000 – 60,000 per year

• We require experience working within structured project governance frameworks, such as PMO or programme teams.
• We require familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
• We require the ability to maintain and update issue registers and tracking systems with accuracy and rigour.
• We require the ability to facilitate regular issue review meetings, ensuring clear ownership and timely follow-up.
• We require a degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• We oversee the timely identification, tracking, and resolution of software and system issues across complex systems.
• We ensure consistent adherence to established processes and effective use of issue management tools.
• We provide clear and transparent reporting to senior stakeholders.
• We drive and prioritise actions and process changes based on clear KPIs around defect management.
• We develop metrics, dashboards, and professional presentations to support decision-making.
• We maintain accurate issue registers and tracking systems.
• We facilitate regular issue review meetings and ensure clear ownership of actions.
• We support stakeholder discussions and follow-up on complex or sensitive matters.
• We monitor defect management performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

We are an OEM client based in Gaydon and are seeking a Software and Systems Defect Coordination Engineer to join our team on a contract basis inside IR35. This is an opportunity to work across complex software and systems environments, supporting structured governance and defect resolution processes through to 31st March 2027. The role is non-hands‑on and focused on coordination, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and process discipline, with an umbrella pay rate of £33.64 per hour.
