£40,457 per annum plus £3,222 London allowance, potential 15% bonus and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

You’ll be responsible for leading a team, accountable for health and safety, and operational quality, cost and people KPI’s.

About The Role

As a line manager to 27 delivery and collection drivers, including warehouse and self‑employed owner drives, you will achieve maximum efficiency through resource and contingency planning, driving quality of service and maximising productivity. Working to tight timescales you will drive the depot to achieve the highest possible customer service satisfaction levels whilst ensuring a swift resolution to all customer enquiries and complaints. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the performance of your unit, effectively maintaining the quality of service for our customers and the overall safety of the people you manage whilst working closely with the local sales team to increase revenue opportunities and highlight any network conformance issues.

Attendance: Monday – Friday 11:00 – 19:00, flexibility required due to operational needs.

About You

  • From an express parcels background with some experience of working in a unionised environment
  • Managing and supporting a large team to maximise performance, service and achieving KPI
  • Drive high customer satisfaction by ensuring service quality and managing swift resolutions
  • Ensure health & safety compliance across all night operations, maintaining a safe working environment
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate team members to work to high standards
  • Experience of introducing improvements and successfully guiding people through significant periods of change
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with your team, unions and key stakeholders
  • Experience of managing resources and budgets
