Financial Controller

One of the fastest growing businesses are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Financial Controller to lead their finance function and support the business through its next phase of expansion.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function, providing accurate financial reporting, commercial insight, robust controls, and strong leadership to the finance team. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to support business growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support business growth and decision-making.

Management Accounts & Reporting

• Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts.
• Deliver meaningful financial insights and performance analysis to senior management.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

• Oversee cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
• Manage stock funding facilities and working capital to optimise business performance.
• Maintain and enhance internal financial controls and governance processes.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, HMRC, and statutory reporting requirements.

Audit & Tax

• Manage year-end accounts and coordinate external audits.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisers to ensure compliance and best practice.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiencies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with senior management and department heads to provide commercial and strategic financial support.
• Act as a trusted adviser to the CCO and wider leadership team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Accountant.
• Previous motor experience (highly desirable).
• High attention to detail and commitment to financial compliance and accuracy.
