Ward AM2 – Respiratory Nurse

Ward AM2 is an acute medical ward specialising in respiratory medicine. We treat patients with a full range of respiratory diseases including COPD, asthma, lung cancer, bronchiectasis, sleep apnoea and infectious lung disease.

All of our registered nurses receive training to care for patients on non‑invasive ventilation, patients with altered airways, tracheostomy/laryngectomy and chest drains.

We also care for patients with general medical complex conditions. It is a busy, fast‑paced ward and we are very MDT focused to enable us to provide the best care of our patients.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an efficient, enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse with good interpersonal and communication skills to work on our respiratory ward. You will be joining our friendly and dynamic team with excellent standards and great work ethic. You will be supported to develop into the band 5 role through preceptorship, peer support and an exciting range of educational opportunities.

Qualifications

  • First level registration – Registered Nurse
  • Degree or Diploma
  • Teaching qualification
  • Degree level 6 study Diploma
  • Diploma

Training and experience

  • Experience of working on own and as part of a team
  • Ability to supervise and support junior staff
  • Evidence of teaching and assessing skills/ability
  • Awareness of clinical audit
  • Evidence undertaking a mentor/preceptor role
  • Experience in relevant area of practice

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
