Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • To provide, develop and promote a responsive, patient focused, highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to patients and staff within Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
  • To deliver specialist information and expert advice to all members of the multidisciplinary team to maximise patient pharmaceutical care and ensure that medicines are prescribed, administered and supplied in a safe, effective and economic manner and to reduce harm caused by medication errors.
  • To provide direct supervision and training to clinical pharmacy staff, develop and provide training regarding the use of medicines and medicines management principles to clinical staff, non-clinical staff, service users and carers.
  • To support the Head of Clinical Pharmacy Services- Bed Based in the delivery of all aspects of the Pharmacy Service. All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.

Qualifications

  • Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy (4 Years Course) or Equivalent
  • Completed and passed Pre-Registration training and professional exam
  • General Pharmaceutical Council Registered Practising Pharmacist Member
  • Post-graduate Certificate or Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experiential learning.
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Desirable Criteria

  • Independent and/or Supplementary Prescriber
  • Member of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy, 4 year experience as a Qualified Pharmacist.
  • Expert knowledge and practical clinical skills, within area of own expertise
  • Mental Health Knowledge
  • Mental Health experience and good knowledge of Mental Health services, Good leadership and supervisory skills
  • Able to effect and manage change
  • Understanding of and ability to implement trust priorities
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Hospital Pharmacy experience or experience of working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Research or Audit experience
  • Experience in management of others
  • Project Management experience, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
