Senior Clinical Practice Pharmacist Full time, or part-time considered – AIR BALLOON SURGERY
An opportunity to join and lead our well established and highly skilled practice employed pharmacist team, and would suit those with primary care experience looking for the next challenge.
This is a permanent post, working solely for Air Balloon Surgery, and funded through the FABB PCN Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme.
The post has become vacant as the existing post holder is leaving to pursue a new venture outside General Practice. We have a long tradition of employing our own Practice Clinical Pharmacist, being one of the first in Bristol to do so. We fully recognise the value and important role this brings to the wider team. The pharmacy team’s work is well established into practice pathways and working arrangements.
The role of the Senior Clinical Practice Pharmacist is well embedded in the wider practice clinical team. We see this post as a senior clinical role within the wider clinical team and are keen to embrace and further develop the potential for clinical pharmacy in our practice vision for high quality clinical services. Leading our existing team of experienced prescribing Clinical Practice Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician, the role of the Senior Clinical Practice Pharmacist is pivotal to improving the quality of care and ensuring patient safety. The team manage a complex and varied program of working across all aspects of medicines management, and you will be working to improve value and outcomes from medicines and consult with and treat patients directly, pro-actively managing patients with chronic disease and complex poly-pharmacy.This includes day-to-day and more developmental and strategic work. The post holder would lead this work along with quality improvement, audit and development of services.
The Practice Pharmacy team consists of 4 team members. This post will lead the team and provide clinical supervision to the other 3 team members with support from one of the GP partners and our local training hub.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years post graduate experience, be an independent prescriber with primary care prescribing experience, and will have completed the Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway.
You will be regularly supervised by a GP partner and will receive opportunities to grow and develop professionally.

Pay: Competitive salary offered, negotiable depending on experience and skill set, within range of £56,186 – £62,023 pro rata. One week study leave and 5.6 weeks pro rata annual leave per year. Includes NHS Pension Scheme.
Hours: This post could be full time (37.5 hours) worked over five days, or part-time, minimum of 22.5 hours worked over a minimum of 3 days. Consideration could be given to an alternative working pattern.
