Overview

We are looking to recruit two Associate Professors in Cyber Security to the School of Computer Science to complement our strengths and support our growing Cyber Security research group (CybSec). We are particularly interested in strengthening our activities on human aspects and/or network security.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Professor you will have a substantial national and growing international reputation in Cyber Security and will have a significant impact on research and teaching. You will undertake research, both individually and collaboratively, that complements the existing interests and activities of the CybSec group. You will seek and secure funding through the development of your own research proposals and be active in research and knowledge exchange projects both internally and externally. You will act as principal investigator on major research projects, take an active role in supervising postdoctoral researchers and take responsibility for new research and other initiatives linked to your area of expertise. You will review and interpret research project outcomes, publishing in high-impact venues.

Teaching

You will have the ability to deliver high quality teaching through a variety of methods to support the School’s teaching requirements, with a focus on your area of cyber security. You will be responsible for the development of content and structure of existing and new teaching as part of the overall curriculum and at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Culture & Diversity

Our vision as a School is to be highly rated in all areas: Research and Knowledge Exchange, Education and Student Experience, People and Culture. We are committed to creating opportunities for people from groups traditionally underrepresented in the field of Computer Science and therefore the ability to relate to and mentor students and colleagues within an increasingly ethnically and gender diverse community is essential.

Benefits

You will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance.

Working Hours & Arrangements

This is a permanent position. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours). We are willing to discuss flexible working arrangements. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Equal Opportunity

Your application will be considered on an equal basis, subject to the relevant permission to work in the UK as set out by UK Visas & Immigration.
