Distribution Shift Manager – Balmalcolm & Orkie (Freuchie)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the out-loading and distribution functions across both sites
• Deliver departmental and business performance goals
• Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities
• Manage supplier and haulage relationships effectively
• Act as a key point of contact between departments, particularly Production
• Lead, support, and develop Team Managers to maximise team performance
• Support recruitment activities including interviewing new team members
• Cover Distribution Manager and Team Manager shifts where required
• Provide hands‑on support on the factory floor during peak periods

Skills

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
• Logical planning and organisational capability
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure
• Experience in distribution, logistics, or a similar fast‑paced environment
• Forklift experience is desirable (training can be provided)
