About the Role

The Project Leader role combines elements of both traditional Project Management and Design Engineering, managing projects through the outline and detailed design lifecycle for water and wastewater projects. The role supports cross‑disciplinary teams and contributes to design completion within programme, budget and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the project triangle (Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor) to integrate technical, constructability and commercial aspects.
  • Lead the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline to detail, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate the multidisciplinary project team including civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists.
  • Undertake design work in one’s discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Build positive relationships with client teams and promote a “one‑team” approach.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Accredited degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Process or Electrical).
  • Incorporated member of a recognised engineering institution.
  • Experience in outline and detailed design of water or wastewater projects.
  • Knowledge of Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
