Overview
Come and join one of the UK’s largest independent providers in neuro and mental healthcare. We proudly employ over 4000 people – no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone. Therapists at Active Neuro don’t just set goals – they change lives. At Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, we support adults with acquired or traumatic brain injuries, neurological conditions, and complex needs.
From NHS referrals to private and medicolegal clients, our work isn’t limited by a 12-week window. That means our therapists can set meaningful, long‑term, person‑centred goals – whether that’s bowling with family, baking again, returning to art, or gardening independently. We are looking for a passionate and empathetic Occupational Therapist to join this outstanding multidisciplinary team on a fixed‑term, 12‑month contract, helping to deliver life‑changing rehabilitation.
The Role
This role is 37.5 hours per week. Some weekend working will be required as the service continues to develop and we transition to a 7‑day model. We recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy work–life balance, so if you require flexibility to suit your personal or professional commitments, we encourage an open conversation – we’ll always aim to accommodate individual needs wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for individuals with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries, demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning.
- Develop and implement person‑centred therapy plans that support recovery of functional independence, daily living skills, and meaningful activities.
- Use creativity and innovation to deliver engaging therapy programmes tailored to each patient’s interests, goals and needs.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic rehabilitation and contribute to team decision‑making.
- Supervise, mentor and support junior staff and students, sharing expertise and promoting best practice across the team.
- Support and educate patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation journey, fostering engagement and confidence in the therapy process.
- Contribute to goal setting, discharge planning and outcome measurement, ensuring therapy is evidence‑based and outcome‑focused.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing and human rights of all service users are upheld, maintaining professional standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
About you
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience working within a neurorehabilitation or neurological setting.
- Experience working in private healthcare, independent rehabilitation services or with medico‑legal clients would be advantageous.
- Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills, with the ability to plan and adapt complex therapy programmes.
- Experience in mentoring, supervising or supporting junior staff or students.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A team‑oriented mindset and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A passion for delivering person‑centred rehabilitation and meaningful outcomes.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS. We also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions. To support this, we are a Disability Confident employer.
