Production Operative

Location: Exeter, SWMF plants, UK.

The production operative will be responsible for daily production output, including masking of components, loading onto jigging fixtures, and carrying out and monitoring electroplating and anodizing processes in accordance with processing requirements. Issues must be raised to team leaders and value stream managers, and basic quality checks are performed during the process. Liaison with other team members is required on a daily basis.

Scope of Responsibility

• Responsible for achieving set output targets.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
• Conform to all compliance requirements for processing components.
• Mask components using techniques ranging from brush to tape applications.
• Load components onto jigging fixtures.
• Set and monitor key process parameters such as voltage and temperature.
• Complete all required documentation involved in the process.
• Perform basic quality checks on components during the process.
• Conduct direct staff return‑to‑work interviews within the shift and submit relevant paperwork.
• Co‑ordinate with value stream managers to resolve process‑related problems.
• Shut down and leave processes and equipment in a safe and environmentally friendly state.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with customer specifications, regulations, manuals, procedures and company policy.

Experience

• Experience is beneficial but not required; full training will be provided.

Computer Skills

Core English and mathematics skills required. Must have basic PC operating ability.

Core Hours of Work

08:00 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday. 08:00 – 15:00 Friday (hours/shift patterns may change depending on operational requirements and are covered by contractual arrangements).
