The Hive is a provision opened by Hill Park School on a newly refurbished site in Lynchets Close, Hollingdean in September 2023.
The Hive is for autistic students between Y7 and Y11 who have high anxiety that prevents them accessing mainstream secondary schools or facilities co-located at mainstream secondary schools.
Many have been home educated or have accessed tutoring packages due to the barriers they face attending school. They are able to access an age-related curriculum and achieve GCSE’s and other Secondary accreditations.
Part time: 30 hours per week, term-time only. Paid weeks per year: 47.36 (inclusive of holiday entitlement). Fixed term: Until 31 August 2027. Start date: September 2026.

About the Role
We are looking to recruit B Grade Teaching Assistants to support KS3/4 tutor groups in various subjects across the year groups along with behaviour/pastoral support. The role requires a warm, friendly, and caring approach, a team orientation and a flexible, resilient attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to individuals and small groups in accessing and progressing within the GCSE curriculum.
- Support KS3/4 tutor groups in various subjects across the year groups.
- Provide behaviour and pastoral support within the school environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Maths and English qualifications at GCSE or equivalent.
- Patience and calm manner.
