Job Overview
This graduate maths teaching assistant role is for a full‑time position in a secondary school that caters for students aged 11‑16. You will support Mathematics lessons across KS3‑KS4, deliver targeted one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions, assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, and help students develop confidence, problem‑solving skills, and a positive attitude towards Mathematics.
- Support students in Mathematics lessons across KS3‑KS4
- Deliver targeted one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions to raise attainment
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons
- Help students develop confidence, problem‑solving skills, and a positive attitude towards Mathematics
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with the Maths department and wider school team
- Contribute to intervention programmes and enrichment opportunities
We’re Looking For
- A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to engage, motivate, and support learners of varying abilities
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
