No two days are the same in charity retail. One day you could be creating a stunning window display, the next uncovering a hidden gem in a donation bag, supporting volunteers on the shop floor, or celebrating a record sales day. What You’ll Be Doing
As Assistant Shop Manager, you’llwork closely with the Shop Manager to help deliver a successful, well-presented, and profitable store. You’llplay a key role in ensuring the shop looks amazing, performs brilliantly, and provides an exceptional experience for every customer and donor who walks through the door.
You’ll:
- Support the Shop Manager to drive sales and maximise income for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.
- Help create eye-catching displays, inspiring shop layouts, and attractive window presentations.
- Assistin leading, motivating, and supporting a fantastic team of staff and volunteers.
- Sort, price, and merchandise donations, ensuring stock is presented to a high standard.
- Deliver excellent customer service and build strong relationships within the local community.
- Helpmaintainhigh standardsof housekeeping, health and safety, and compliance.
- Use your retail knowledge and commercial awareness toidentifyopportunities and grow sales.
- Promote the work of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care and help make a difference in your local community.
- Take responsibility for the shop and team in the absence of the Shop Manager.
While Ashley Cross will be your home store, there may occasionally be opportunities to support other Lewis-Manning shops during holidays, peak trading periods, or unforeseen absences.
What We’re Looking For
We’relooking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about retail, with a positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in
You’ll have:
- Previousexperience in a retail environment, ideally with supervisory, key-holder, or team leader responsibilities.
- Strong people skills and the ability to support, motivate, and develop others.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- A good understanding of visual merchandising and retail presentation.
- Experience working with customers and delivering outstanding service.
- An understanding of safe working practices within a retail environment.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- An awareness of social media and its role in promoting retail activity.
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
