Job Summary
This role is for an experienced Test Equipment Design Engineer who will join our Production Design Support Team. You will play a leading role in providing design support to the manufacturing organization, helping shape product and test equipment designs, and ensuring that designs are translated effectively into the production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a leading role in production activities, providing Test Equipment design support.
- Act as an integral interface between design teams and manufacturing teams.
- Provide design support, knowledge, and recommendations throughout the manufacturing process.
- Shape the design of products and test equipment, delivering support to customers.
- Write clear and concise engineering documentation.
- Lead the delivery of work assignments and actively engage stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Manage discreet work packages, prepare bids, control costs and deliver solutions.
- Investigate root causes of design-related issues and propose robust corrective actions.
- Mentor other Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience of designing products/systems and/or providing support to designs through the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.
- Excellent verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Passion for innovation and collaboration.
- Experience working autonomously, leading delivery of assignments and stakeholder engagement.
- Solid experience of managing discreet work packages preparing bids, controlling costs and delivering solutions.
- Investigative skills to find root causes of design-related issues and propose corrective actions.
- Full product lifecycle knowledge or experience.
- Willingness to provide support to and mentor other Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
- Proven experience in the design of one or more of the following disciplines: RF and Antenna Design, Electrical Architecture Design for Safety and Integrity, RF Test and measurement principle knowledge.

Additional Information

Salary: up to £52,500 depending on experience.
Location: Bolton, United Kingdom.
Working arrangement: Hybrid – 4–5 days per week onsite.
Security clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship.
