My client is a robotics start-up from one of the top universities who are building a new product to guide vision impaired people. They are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.

Based on breakthrough research, they have discovered and patented the world’s most effective haptic interface for communicating direction. We are pairing this interface with AR to build a product to help the blind. The team has grown to 20 people and we have had a £1.5m grant alongside a €2m grant.

They are looking for seasoned developers who have worked in a variety of teams and organisations who can improve our development culture.

In this role you will:

  • Write, review, and advocate for robust, maintainable code with extensibility in mind.
  • Play a pivotal role in architecture.
  • Pair program with other engineers, making everyone around you better.
  • Identify skills gaps and help build out the team.
  • Work closely with hardware, UX, regulatory, and other departments to solve problems.
  • Take initiative and fight through ambiguity to get stuff done!

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of industry experience with expertise in software development.
  • Broad knowledge of development & experience working with all roles in a software team.
  • Strong software engineering background, with advanced understanding of software architecture, design principles, data structures and algorithms.
  • Self‑motivated and willing to work long hours to help build a business.
  • Mobile app development (preferably Swift).
  • Strong mathematics background.
  • Experience developing for products with custom hardware (Bluetooth Low Energy).
