Job Overview
Family Help Worker, Fixed‑term 12‑month, Full‑time – 37hrs a week, Lincoln, countywide. Salary £32,597–£35,412. The role supports adolescents and their families to prevent youth homelessness and offending using a preventative, trauma‑sensitive approach.
Due to recent immigration law changes, the role does not meet the criteria for skilled worker visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Child and Family Assessments, Youth Justice Assessments and produce written reports.
- Serve as Lead Professional where appropriate and facilitate holistic family work for children subject to Child Protection, Child in Need or Looked After Plans.
- Advocate and champion adolescents with partner agencies, including education, health and housing.
- Plan and review cases across a broad variety of practice, from diversionary work to early interventions.
- Develop and coordinate programmes of support based on assessment outcomes and collaborate with families and other professionals.
- Travel within the county, respond flexibly to cases, including some evening and weekend work and duty responsibilities.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to advocate for adolescents.
- Practised in a trauma‑sensitive approach and experience working with families and young people.
- Fluency in spoken English – Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty) requires accurate spoken English.
- Experience in multi‑agency working and familiarity with restorative principles is desirable.
