About the role

At Fullarton ARBD Service, the focus is on recovery, with support that is flexible, person‑centred, and responsive to individual need. Our approach is about working alongside people living with Alcohol‑Related Brain Damage to rebuild confidence, strengthen independence, and develop everyday skills that support a meaningful and fulfilling life.

We support adults living with Alcohol‑Related Brain Damage to maintain and develop independence, build on existing abilities, and achieve a better quality of life at a pace that suits them. The emphasis is on choice, wellbeing, and supporting each person to work towards their own goals, whether that is establishing routines, increasing confidence, or becoming more involved in community life.

Fullarton is a registered care home, but the service is designed to feel very different from a traditional setting. With 22 self‑contained flats, residents live in their own homes while having access to 24‑hour support when needed. This support is offered in a flexible way, whether that is reassurance, guidance, practical help, or simply a friendly conversation, always respecting privacy, independence, and personal routine.

Support is built around developing trusting relationships and encouraging people to remain as independent as possible, while knowing help is available when required. The environment promotes stability, dignity, and inclusion, with a strong focus on recovery and day‑to‑day wellbeing.

Key areas of support

  • Supporting daily routines and independent living
  • Encouraging personal development and confidence building
  • Promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and community connection
  • Building positive and trusting relationships
  • Supporting engagement in meaningful activities

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is caring, reliable, and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to supporting others in a way that respects their choices and promotes their independence. You will be confident working in a personalised support environment, able to build positive relationships, and respond flexibly to changing needs.

Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. An understanding of supporting individuals with Alcohol‑Related Brain Damage (ARBD) and a commitment to working in a trauma‑informed, inclusive, and non‑discriminatory way is important. Above all, you will share our values and be motivated to support individuals on their recovery journey to live safe, as independent as possible, and fulfilling lives.

  • access to a contributory pension scheme
  • excellent leave entitlements
  • enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave
  • contributions towards dental, optical, driving lessons and more
