Personal Assistant needed for an 8‑year‑old boy with Smith Magenis syndrome, autism, and ADHD in the HU8 area (5‑12 hrs per week).

Responsibilities

• Supporting community access (trips to the park, library, and swimming).
• Providing companionship and engaging in fun, educational, or sensory activities.
• Ensuring his safety at all times, especially in busy environments.
• Assisting with personal care and daily routines.
• Encouraging communication and social skills.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children with SEN/autism.
• Patient, creative, and proactive in finding new activities.
• Car driver with access to a vehicle (public transport is not an option for our son).
• All mileage costs will be covered.
• Background check required – a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service report is mandatory, with the cost paid by the local authority/employer.
