Job Title

EDM Engineer

Purpose of the Role

Responsible for setting up and operating Spark and Wire Erosion machines to perform EDM precision machining operations.

Reporting To

Manufacturing Lead

Working Pattern

Shift work, Monday to Friday — 37 hours per week.

Location

Glasgow

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee machinery set-up and operate machines
  • Load materials and unload finished products
  • Adjust machine settings as required
  • Follow technical drawings working to customer tolerances
  • Follow procedures and safety guidelines, including company procedures, operating standards, and process documentation
  • Maintain an accurate log of production and equipment problems, adjustments, and repairs; conduct machine inspections for mechanical or safety issues
  • Ensure machines are stocked with tooling and material to limit downtime
  • Maintain safety focus to ensure personal and others safety around operational machinery
  • Provide flexibility to support production requirements during busier periods

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Time served EDM Engineer
  • Experience in Spark Erosion & Wire Erosion
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Experience working to high quality standards on precision components
  • Knowledge of safety and manufacturing regulations and procedures

Rate

£22.01 per hour plus shift allowance at 25% – £27.50 per hour.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • 37 hours per week
  • Early Shift: Mon to Thurs, 6 am to 2 pm & Fri, 6 am – 1.30 pm
  • Back Shift: Mon to Thurs, 2 pm – 10 pm & Fri, 2 pm – 9.30 pm
  • Night Shift: Mon to Thurs, 10 pm – 6 am & Fri, 10 pm – 5.30 am
  • Day Shift: Mon to Thurs, 8 am – 4.30 pm & Fri, 8 am – 1 pm
