Children’s Social Worker needed for our Children Services in Leeds, paying £40 ph

• Salary: £40 per hour

About the role

As a Social Worker, you will hold a complex caseload that may include:

• Child and Family Assessments
• Children in Need (CIN)
• Child Protection (CP)
• Public Law Outline (PLO)
• Care Proceedings
• Permanence Planning

You will take lead worker responsibility for your cases, working alongside colleagues across the service. While the role involves managing complex work, it does not include formal supervisory or line management responsibilities.

The team is committed to restorative practice, placing children and families at the centre of decision‑making and supporting family‑led solutions wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload from assessment through to permanence.
• Undertake Child and Family Assessments and develop outcome‑focused plans.
• Complete Child in Need and Child Protection work in line with statutory requirements.
• Prepare high‑quality assessments, reports and court documentation.
• Undertake direct work with children to ensure their voices inform planning and decision‑making.
• Build strong, effective relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
• Promote restorative and strengths‑based approaches to safeguarding and family support.
• Participate in multi‑agency meetings and contribute to effective care planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and performance standards.

Requirements

• Excellent relational practice with children and families.
• Confidence in managing risk while promoting family‑led decision making.
• Strong critical thinking and professional judgement.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a busy team environment.
• A willingness to share knowledge, skills and best practice to support a positive learning culture.
